Effective date: 5 August 2026
API Sunset is operated by Sajith Pragash, a sole proprietor based in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us", "our").

⚠️ Note for the operator: written for an Ontario sole proprietorship. Not legal advice. Confirm your full legal name above is correct. Section 6 is the one that actually protects you — read it. If you incorporate, replace the operator line with the corporation's legal name.
API Sunset monitors publicly available changelogs published by third-party API providers, classifies changes by severity, and notifies you by email, webhook or JSON API.
By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must give a valid email address. Your API key is your credential — keep it private. You are responsible for activity under your key.
If you believe your key is compromised, email us and we will issue a new one. We store only a hash of your key, so we cannot retrieve it for you; we can only replace it.
Free plan. No card required. 3 watched providers, a weekly digest. We may change or discontinue the free plan with 30 days' notice.
Paid plans. Pro ($9/month) and Team ($29/month) are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled.
Cancelling. Cancel any time through the billing portal. Service continues to the end of the period you have paid for. No cancellation fee, no phone call, no retention conversation.
Refunds. Fees are generally non-refundable. However, if the service materially failed to work and we could not fix it within 5 business days of you telling us, we will refund that month. We would rather refund you than argue.
Price changes. At least 30 days' email notice, effective at your next renewal. Existing subscribers are never charged a new price without notice.
Taxes. Prices exclude applicable taxes. Where we are required to collect GST/HST or other sales tax, it will be added at checkout.
You agree not to:
We may suspend accounts that breach this section, with notice where practical.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Please read this part properly, because it is the honest description of what you are buying:
not announce at all
You remain solely responsible for whether your systems work with the third-party APIs you use. If we miss something, that is a limitation of the product, not a transfer of responsibility to us.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
(a) Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business, even if advised such damages were possible.
(b) Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $100 if you are on the free plan.
(c) In particular, we are not liable for losses arising from a change we failed to detect, classified incorrectly, or notified you of late.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law — including fraud, wilful misconduct, or rights you have under applicable consumer protection legislation such as Ontario's Consumer Protection Act.
Why this matters: a customer could plausibly claim that a missed deprecation caused an outage that cost them far more than $9. This clause is what keeps that from becoming an existential problem.
You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your unlawful use of the service or your breach of Section 4.
We retain all rights in the service, including the curated provider registry and the archive of detected changes. You retain rights in your own configuration data. You grant us a licence to process your data solely to provide the service.
The changelog content we surface belongs to the providers who published it. We report on it and link to the source; we do not claim ownership of it.
You may delete your account at any time. We may terminate free accounts with 30 days' notice, and any account immediately for material breach of Section 4.
Sections 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10 survive termination.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either party may seek injunctive relief wherever appropriate.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections available under the mandatory law of your own country of residence.
If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stands. These terms plus the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us. We may update these terms with 14 days' email notice; continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
